New ALL-SIS Website Now Live

ALL-SIS has a new home on the web!

The newest version of the ALL-SIS website is now live at http://www.aallnet.org/sections/all. All of the content and features from the old site can be found at the new location, but with an updated organization scheme and a design that fits with AALL’s current branding.

On the backend, the ALL-SIS site is now part of AALLNET’s Symplicity content management system. This means that most of the resources previously accessible only with a special password can now be accessed with your basic AALL login credentials. (For now, the Sourcebook for Teaching Legal Research remains an exception; please contact me if you need the special password for accessing this resource.)

At least through the end of the 2013 annual meeting, both the new site and the previous ALL-SIS website(http://www.aallnet.org/sis/allsis/) will be accessible. ALL-SIS committees and members who wish to use pages from the old site during the conference should feel free to do so. However, AALL plans to eliminate access to the old site in the near future, so please transition to the new website at your earliest convenience.

As always, please feel free to contact me with any questions or criticisms about the website.

Faculty Services Round Table

Hi All,

The Faculty Services Committee is anticipating another successful round table at this year’s Annual Meeting.  The following five topics will be discussed:

  1. Marketing library services to faculty.
  2. instructing faculty on new ways to access traditional resources (ex. WestlawNext, Lexis Advance, library catalogs using discovery platforms, etc.)
  3. Roles librarians can/should play in assisting faculty with substantive course content.
  4. Emerging issues with distance learning (from working with faculty and LLM students, to training RAs who are off-sight)
  5. Promoting faculty scholarship and online repositories.

The 2013 Faculty Services round table will be on Sunday, July 14th, at 12:30.  We look forward to a good turnout and to discussing these topics.

Thanks,

Seth
